A Day of Light
From dawn to deep night, eight paintings made between about 1830 and 1906 follow how light changes through a day: sunrise over a harbour, a cathedral in morning light, the Seine on a rainy afternoon, an avenue in the setting sun, and a quay still at work under the moon. Hung in order of the hours, to be walked through slowly.
